Reforging and salvage
Push a stat higher at the anvil, or break a piece down.
Reforging
Pick one stat on a piece and try to push it higher. It costs gold (30% of the piece's worth, ×1.5 for every earlier reforge of the same piece, at least 500) and one of the piece's main material (Voidsteel gear takes
Void Essence).
- Success: the stat goes up. Base odds 80%, −5% for each earlier reforge, and up to −30% for a stat that's already near perfect; +0.5% per crafting level above the recipe (up to +15%). Always between 20% and 90%.
- Failure: usually nothing changes, but 40% of failures let the stat slip 10%–25% of its range.
- Chasing a perfect Mythic is a gold sink with no bottom.
Salvage
Break a piece down for half its materials back (an odd one comes back half the time; more with Salvager's Eye), so crafting and salvaging never pays for itself. The pieces burst into materials that fly to your Inventory. Salvaging a tool gives some Tinkering XP too.
